Laura the Warrior

The first Victim you can see the bottoms in this view the bad quality)
This costume was somewhat complex but very time consuming to build. The mask was a Mardi Gras Style creation with over a thousand hand placed feathers placed to create a black and white pattern. The calve length cape was made from leather like material with fake black fur sewn around the edges to give it an outline.
The shoulder pads were Junior High size football pads with thousands of hand placed feathers glued on to create a pattern similar to the one on the mask.
The top was a project in itself as was the bottoms (not pictured). We started with a bra that fit Laura then added fake black brushed leather (sewn on to be permanent) Once the bra was covered leather boot lace was added to complete the look. Next we added several hundred rhinestones that had to be glued on one at a time. We repeated this process with a bikini bottom to construct a bottom that matched the top.
The arm bands were simply fake gray fur with white fur sewn around the edges and laced around the wrist with men's leather boot laces.
The boots were a pair of boots that fit Laura then fake gray fur wrapped around the entire boot all the way up and over the knee. The fur was glued to the boot and strapped in the back to ad realism and durability. After all she had to walk around in this all night!
A wig and some toy weapons complete this costume. It was expensive to build because we had no plans and every step was trial and error. Hundreds of dollars in prize money have been won with this costume and the women who wore it. Special thanks to Laura Dersey, Martha Castleberry and Brian Castleberry, the crew that helped me build this masterpiece.
